New Know It All Service
October 9, 2008 · Leave a Comment
Don’t you wish you had a little know it all in your pocket that you could utilize whenever you needed to? Like what’s a good bike trail in Mill Creek, WA? Or what was Dirty Harry’s last name? Who won the world series in 1983? Whatever your question ChaCha.com has the answer!
- According to their website: ChaCha is like having a smart friend you can call or text for answers on your cell phone anytime for free! ChaCha works with virtually every provider and allows people with any mobile phone device – from basic flip phones to advanced smart phones – to ask any question in conversational English and receive an accurate answer as a text message in just a few minutes.
- What’s your question?
Simply text your question to 242242 (spells ‘ChaCha’) or call 1-800-2ChaCha (800-224-2242) from your mobile phone to ask any question.
I read their FAQ and it was interesting that calls from your home phone or landline phone will not work with ChaCha or if your caller ID is blocked. Not sure why.

What’s Twitter?
October 7, 2008 · Leave a Comment
Do you know what Twitter is? According to people who know more than I Twitter is all the rage. So all of us at The McFarland Group have been playing around with it. Let me explain what Twitter is and then how it works!
Twitter is kind of like blogging and instant messaging. Each tweet or post must be 140 characters or less and you can include links to helpful blogs and Websites, your wacky pictures and videos, etc. And each tweet is centered around answering the question, “What are you doing?"
How does it work? Twitter is a free service and all you need is a Twitter account. Once you have an account people can sign up to "follow" you. What that means is everytime you send out a message on your Twitter account whoever "follows" you will get that message. You can send/receive "tweets" (messages) on your phone or online. You can protect your account so that only people you know can follow you or you can let the entire world follow you.
So what’s the point (i.e I don’t get it)? I’m not really sure yet. Brandon and I use it the most and I learned his little boy was sick and he learned my hot water tank broke through Twitter. It keeps us in the loop of what’s going on in each other’s lives outside of work and it’s totally fun to get a random tweet from a friend who lives on the East Coast.

Amazing Deals for Baby/Kids
October 2, 2008 · 1 Comment
As some of you know I have twin boys and when you have twins you just need to know someone else knows what you’re going through so I joined the Snohomish County Mothers of Multiples club (SNOMOMS). This is an amazing club and if you or anyone you know has multiples please check out their website.
But the reason for today’s post is 2x a year SNOMOMS puts on a used clothing and equipment sale and it happens to be this Saturday October 4th from 8:30am-12:00pm at Lynnwood High School (right across from the Alderwood Mall). It’s free to get in but I must suggest you get there early. Equipment such as strollers, high chairs, bike trailers, swings, cribs, etc go first, there’s usually a line before the doors even open.
At the sale you will find:
- car seats, strollers, high chairs, bouncers, swings, cribs, all sorts of "equipment"
- clothing for boys and girls from newborn to about 5t. There are some larger sizes but not much quantity
- bedding, sheets, blankets
- toys (books, games, movies)
Lots of stuff at really good prices and quality. It’s used but gently used. They take cash and local personal checks, sorry no debit or credit cards. I’ll be there working the floor so find me if you have questions or just want to say hi!
