Just had to share this amazing find. Tickets from Seattle to Hawaii yesterday were, are you ready for this? $320. Yep, $320 will get you round trip from Seattle to Oahu. Seats were filling up fast so if you are even thinking of going you should book your tickets now. At that price you could go for the weekend!
I know totally random but when was the last time tickets to Hawaii were that low?

Last night my family went to The Melting Pot in Bellevue, WA for dinner. If you have never been it’s something you should try at least once! They also have locations in Seattle and Tacoma.
The Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant. What’s fondue you say? Fondue is when there is a communal dish of cheese, oil, or chocolate placed over a heating source and the diners use long forks to dip tidbits of food into the sauce. It’s amazing! Plus they have a very nice wine selection, very nice!
The best part about the The Melting Pot is they let you do what you want. You don’t have to sit down to a 4 course meal, you could order just cheese or just chocolate. We did the Spinach and Artichoke Cheese and it came with refillable baskets of bread, apples, carrots, and califlower. Then we went straight to the dessert! We did the chocolate and peanut butter and it came with a nice tray of cheesecake, pound cake, strawberries, marshmellows, and other fun stuff.
It gets expensive fast but for a nice treat or a celebration it’s worth it! We took our 4 year old boys and they did just great. If you go don’t forget there is a coupon in the Entertainment Book!

Have you heard about the musical road in CA? Apparently Honda filmed a commercial on a road in Lancaster, CA where they put grooves in the road so when you drive over it at a certain speed you hear the William Tell Overture. There were several postings on youtube about it so I do believe it. I guess after a few weeks the local residents didn’t like it and the city agreed to pave over it.

The powers to be are coming to the rescue and helping out the banks from the ugly Sub-Prime Loan mess. Maybe, just maybe, Real Estate will lead the way for a better 2009 – again!
The current economic crisis can be traced to loose lending practices for home purchases – especially loans to borrowers with poor credit. Everyone was counting on home prices to keep escalating like they have over the last few years. But when the Real Estate market dropped, home prices plummeted in many instances overnight!
Foreclosures rates skyrocketed because many people were left owing more on their mortgage than their home was worth. Many homeowners began walking away from their responsibilities.
This is a massive rescue plan. Will it work? Who knows but given how important housing is to our national economy, we don’t have a lot of options at this point.

On each of our listings we have added a School Finder widget. This widget lists schools around the house for sale and has links that you can click on to get you specific information on that school. For instance, our new listing in Edmonds is zoned for Picnic Point Elementary School.
On the provided map you can find that school and click on it and you will be taken to a page with demographics specific to that school. You’ll find that there are 433 students, student to teacher ratio is 16, 53% are male, and that they are above the state standard on math and reading.
Check it out, it’s a pretty cool tool!

Being a Real Estate Agent you learn some tricks and cleaning carpets is one of them. There’s nothing worse than a obvious stain in the carpet.
I’ve tried several types of carpet cleaners and the one that works the best for me is 409 Carpet Spot Cleaner. I would have never thought to try a 409 brand of carpet cleaner but they have found the magic solution for getting tough stains out.
It’s a foam product that you spray on and let sit for 3 minutes and then rub out with a dry cloth. I’ve gotten coffee stains, dirt, juice, the infamous unknown stain, and they have all come out.
A little bit of trivia for you, the official name of 409 is Formula 409 came from the 409th formulation attempt during development.

I’ve made the switch, I have been making coffee at home in the mornings instead of going to the espresso stand! I used to get a tall coconut latte 2-3 times a week and costing me about about $10/week. Now I get ground coffee and make it the old fashioned way, put it in a commuter mug and off I go. The cool part is it doesn’t take anymore time than it does to wait in line at the espresso stand and it’s soooo much cheaper!
I took me a while to figure out how many scoops of coffee and sugar but now, ahhhh….. Coffee is a luxury and I will have a coconut latte on occasion but having that extra cash in my wallet is amazing!

Today marks the 7th anniversary of the terrorists attacks on America. Mayor Bloomberg summomed it up by saying "the day which began like any other and ended as none ever has."

Our boys are 4 years old (twins) and we decided to take them to Chuck E Cheese in Lynnwood last night. They had so much fun and it didn’t drain our wallet!
They have a "bouncer" at the door that stamps the children and parents with the same letters to prevent strangers from walking out with your child. I was quite surprised that they checked every child and parent that left to make sure they matched.
All the games take 1 token and one token is about .25 cents. There are coupons in the Sunday paper, on their website or the Entertainment book so you could get them cheaper than that but the games were fun. There was Skeet Ball, video games, ride on cars, games for little kids, older kids, and tubes to play in. Plus of course there was Chuck E Cheese and the band playing by the tables.
The place was pretty clean considering it’s a kid place and the pizza was not bad. It was pretty loud in there but overall it was fun, we’d go back!

There are several House Boats in the Seattle area, so much so that there is a Floating Home Tour every year. Seattle’s Floating Homes Association biennial houseboat tour will be Sunday, September 7, 2008 from noon to 5:00 p.m. This year’s tour will feature 12 floating homes, 9 on the east side of Lake Union and 3 in Portage Bay. A mix of quaint and eclectic cottages and larger, more modern as well as historic homes with a variety of decor have been specially chosen to give viewers a chance to look at this unique water-oriented community and lifestyle.
Not sure if the famous Sleepless in Seattle Houseboat is included in the tour but I’m pretty sure this is the area where that house is. For more details check out their website here.
